Cataract Surgery Procedure

Explain phaco surgery steps:

  1. Eye examination

  2. Before Cataract Surgery we examine the patient like his/her visual acuity, Anterior segment of eye like Eye lids, Conjunctiva, Cornea, Fundoscopy ( Retine Examination). As Per patient of Cataract complains gradual decrease in vision and cloudy view. We confirms the main culprit of vision loss with this examine.

  • Local anesthesia
    Before Suregry we instill the local anesthesis or numbing drops in the targeted eye. Effects of these drops is sufficient for sugery. Sometimes we may use Local anesthesia injections , which is injected in orbit.

  • Small incision
    Small incision is made approx 3mm. Which is main port for entery of Phaco Probe and iol lens insertion, This is self healing incision no stich need to close this. Hense, We call Phaco A suture less surgery

  • Removal of cloudy lens
    Cloudy Lens is removed with Phaco, As Phaco machine produce Ultrasonic waves which tore the cluody lens into pieces and thes pieces are aspirated with probe.

  • Artificial lens implant
    After Cloudy lens IS aspirated an artificial lens which is foldable is injected and dialed on its place within eyeball. This is transarent lens which focus light rays on retina and vision is restored.
